The panoramic sunroof spans approximately 1.5 square metres and can be fully opened for an open-air experience. An available optional system uses nine individually controllable Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) segments in the laminated safety glass, allowing occupants to darken sections of the roof for glare control without a conventional sunshade. The standard coated laminated glass blocks more than 99.5% of UV radiation. When parked, the roof automatically turns opaque. An optional illuminated version adds 84 LEDs that can display up to 30 colours, synced to the selected ambient lighting inside the cabin

Inside, the Q9's cabin is structured around generous space and material quality. Up front, available sports seat plus variants offer ventilation and massage functions, creating what Audi describes as a lounge-like atmosphere. The interior uses Dinamica microfibre, leather and leatherette blends, and Fine Nappa leather, depending on the configuration selected. Decorative inlays include fine grain ash natural, silk beige, lime structure natural, and carbon fibre weave with basalt grey accents all chosen to minimize the use of high-gloss plastics. New colour options such as tamarind brown and stone beige broaden the customization range considerably.

Seating configurations run to either six or seven occupants. The six-seat layout places two electrically adjustable captain's chairs in the second row for a business-class feel, while the seven-seat version allows all three second-row positions to accommodate child safety seats. All seats are partially power-adjustable as standard. To simplify third-row access, the outer second-row seat slides and tilts forward electrically without folding  meaning installed child seats don't need to be removed. Third-row seatbacks fold individually via electric controls, making the switch between passenger and cargo space straightforward. Doors & Entry Technology

The 2027 Audi Q9 introduces electrically powered doors for all four positions — a first for the brand. Each door can be opened via push-button from inside. The available Smart Entrance feature extends door control to the myAudi app, the MMI interface, and the key fob. From the driver's seat, doors can also be triggered to close by applying the brake pedal or fastening the seatbelt. An obstacle detection system using surround sensors can stop a door mid-swing if there isn't sufficient clearance — useful in tighter parking areas — and the same sensors can detect approaching cyclists or pedestrians to help prevent the door from opening into traffic. Doors open to a maximum angle of 90 degrees. Inside, the Bang & Olufsen premium 4D sound system builds on the previous 3D system with headrest speakers that allow personal phone calls and navigation audio without disturbing other passengers.

Interior & Cabin Technology

The key addition in the 4D system: actuators built into the front seats allow occupants to physically feel the music. A dynamic interaction light (IAL) — a continuous LED strip running the full width of the interior at the base of the windshield — supports vehicle-occupant interaction and can sync with music through an "experiences" feature that matches colour output to the track's cover art. The Audi MMI panoramic display is flanked by indirect lighting that creates a floating effect for the dashboard area known as the Audi Digital Stage. The redesigned center console includes two Qi2.2-standard magnetic wireless charging pads and USB-C Power Delivery ports delivering up to 100 watts. A new aluminum rail system in the trunk allows cargo to be secured in three dimensions using sliding hooks and adjustable anchors.
